Two people were stabbed and two others injured during a disturbance involving a street gang in Haa Alifu atoll Baarah.

The Councilor also said that the two others who had been injured were believed to those who were responsible for the disturbance, Mohamed Rihaan of Blueniyaa, and Farooq Shihab of Noor Vaadhee. He further said that the injuries to Farooq’s head had been so serious that he was going to be transferred to MalĂ© for treatment.
Police said that three of those who were injured in the incident were being given treatment at the Haa Alifu atoll Dhidhdhoo Hospital.
“The gang members responsible for the violence were carrying huge knives,” Shameem said. “So the small children and others who were watching the stage show at the time are still in shock.”
He further said that the violence had been carried out by a group that had campaigned for a candidate in the island.
Police said that they had arrested three people in connection to the incident so far. They are Ali Shaam, 19, of Happy Rose; Mohamed Rihaan, 19, of Blueniyaa / Baarah; and Ali Thasleem, 22, of Patra.
